INTERMUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION MEETING

7:05 – 7:20 Watershed Steward : Steve Lewandowski, the recently hired Cayuga Lake Watershed Steward will be formally introduced to the IO. A brief question and answer period will follow.

7:20 – 7:25 Septic Testing Resolution : Discussion of this item will be tabled following a statement by S. Hurlbut regarding Cayuga County’s efforts to persuade other counties in the watershed to enact county-wide septic testing requirements.

7:25 – 7:30 Municipal Priority Issues Ranking : The Technical Committee will collect municipal priority issue matrices from IO representatives. The final tabulation of municipal scorings will take place over the summer. Recommendations made in the draft management plan will directly address the highest scoring issues as determined through this ranking process.

7:30 – 7:40 IO/Network Joint Strategy Meeting : In recognition of the fact that a joint strategy for meeting common goals between the IO and the Network would benefit both groups, J. Lozano will propose a meeting between representatives of both groups for the purpose of developing such a strategy.

7:40 – 8:05 Interim Project Recommendations : The NYSDOS has required preparation of interim recommendation lists during the second year of the project so that the watershed may take advantage of funding opportunities that arise while the Plan is being prepared. The Technical Committee has completed its review and ranking of proposed water quality projects and will present its ranking recommendations to the IO for endorsement.

8:05 – 8:25 IO Bylaws : IO members will have an opportunity to comment on the draft bylaws made available at the May IO meeting prior to voting on their acceptance. The proposed bylaws are also available for review on the web at www.cayugawatershed.org
